I am Rickey Simpson-Gray, Team Vicar, in the Parish of the Claydons and Claydons and Swan Team Ministry.
A bit about me:
My social friends know me as “Rickey” although my formal name is “Lennox” as my mother and father couldn’t decide and so I have carried dual names ever since. I am married to my lovely wife of 24 years, Nicki, and we have two children, Aidan and Chamica.
I am originally from the Diocese of St Albans where I served in two team churches in the Hemel Hempstead Parish. Earlier, I served at Soul Survivor Watford in praise and worship services, festivals, pastoral care and altar ministries.
I spent my formative years in the Church of God of Prophecy serving in the equivalent ministries of my late mother who was a Pastor. Beyond church, I served in several government roles as a Chartered Management Accountant. My wife, Nicki, is a Child Psychotherapist and Mental Health Advocate after completing her MA.
I relax by reading, walking and play a bass guitar with several friends covering different music genres and am sponsored by Thwaites Stringed instruments.
And so, this takes me to my vision with the help of the Lord. This is about deepening our faith in God and offering loving service to each other and community in fulfilment of Jesus’ words from Mark’s Gospel: “Love God and others”. By energising our faith, we extend the Parish reach of The Claydons’ shop window of God’s love and generosity in as many practical ways possible. I hope you’ll be able to join me as we journey together on this exciting road of discovery and opportunity. Shalom †
