Community Food Cupboard

In the words of the Prophet Isaiah, we’re called to feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then our light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around us will be as bright as noon. We are passionate in supporting the vulnerable and those in need. The Parish has therefore established Food and Toiletries’ Community Cupboards at St Michael’s Church, Steeple Claydon. All are invited to help themselves and our Parish and community respond in kind by keeping stocks replenished. This has been a success in our village because all in our community are committed to the provision of the essentials of food where there is a need.

The Parish has recently been granted a further £1,000 from Buckingham County Council Community Fund for local emergency food needs. Food distribution is coordinated via our local contacts: Gary Baldwin (East Claydon and Middle Claydon), Jo Vipan, Rachael Gravy and Kate Smith (Steeple Claydon) and Jane Henstock and her contacts for Calvert Green.

Whilst we have helped many families and individuals, with the assistance of our volunteers, this is a reminder that funds are still available. Please don’t suffer in silence, we are genuinely here for you: you can contact us in confidence via the website ‘contact’ form or by emailing info@theclaydonsparish.org.uk.
